A non-profit based in Richmond’s Northside, Partnership for Families brings together a dozen partner organizations to improve the lives of vulnerable families with young children. We know that investments in early childhood have huge returns for society, but focusing just on quality childcare and early literacy is not sufficient. It takes a collaborative community supporting the entire family — with employment, health, housing, parent literacy, financial education and transportation — to ensure children have a solid foundation when they enter kindergarten.
Partnership for Families is not a traditional non-profit providing direct service to individuals in the community. Rather, they serve as a facilitator, coordinating a network of partners, like a virtual one-stop-shop, to collectively impact families and ensure they are able to navigate the fractured system of supports. This operating model creates a challenge in communicating to clients, partners and funders. Clearly articulating the value of collaboration (1+1=3) requires rich data and a solid communications plan.
Wythe Ave Consulting developed a robust communications plan and supported the execution of all the year-end marketing materials, including:
- an info card
- a digital newsletter
- the year-end appeal mailing
- content for a mission bus tour
- creation of a feedback survey
- an annual report
The digital newsletter saw a 27% open rate versus a list average of 18%. The marketing efforts in total resulted in a 33% increase in the number of donors and a 57% lift in average donation value.
